PART 2 — THE MORNING AFTER THE SLAP
By 7:30 a.m. the next morning, the Sterling mansion was in chaos.
Andrew woke up to find all his black cards declined. When he called the bank, the manager politely informed him:
“I’m sorry, Mr. Sterling. All accounts have been frozen by the primary shareholder — Mrs. Mariana Escalante.”
Andrew laughed at first. Then he screamed.
He stormed downstairs in his robe to find his mother already hysterical. Brenda was crying on the couch because her brand-new credit card (the one Andrew gave her yesterday) was also declined at the Chanel store.
“What the hell is going on?!” Andrew roared.
That’s when his lawyer called.
“Andrew… you need to sit down. Mariana owns 68% of Sterling Global. The mansion, the company, the cars, even the emerald necklace — everything is under her name or her family trust. The marriage contract had ironclad clauses. The moment you physically assaulted her, all assets transferred to her control.”
The phone slipped from Andrew’s hand.
Margaret turned pale. “That’s impossible… she’s nobody!”
Brenda started laughing nervously. “She’s bluffing. She has nothing.”
But she wasn’t bluffing.
At 9:15 a.m., ten security guards entered the mansion with official eviction papers. They gave Andrew, his mother, and Brenda exactly one hour to leave.
Margaret screamed at the guards, “This is my house! Do you know who I am?!”
One guard replied coldly, “Yes, ma’am. You’re the mother of the man who just lost everything in one night.”
Andrew rushed to the headquarters of Escalante Global, drenched in sweat and rain. He begged the receptionist to let him see Mariana.
When he was finally allowed upstairs, he burst into the 38th-floor office and dropped to his knees the moment he saw her.
“Marianne… baby, please. I was drunk. I was angry. Brenda means nothing to me. It was a mistake—”
Mariana sat behind the massive CEO desk in a tailored black suit, looking every bit the powerful heiress she had hidden for four years.
She raised one hand. Andrew immediately shut up.
“You told me to kneel,” she said calmly. “Now look at you.”
PART 3 — ON THEIR KNEES
Margaret and Brenda were brought into the office next. Both were crying.
Brenda tried to speak, “Mariana, I swear I never meant—”
“Quiet,” Mariana cut her off. Her voice was soft but carried absolute authority. “You wanted high society so badly? Enjoy sleeping in a cheap motel tonight. All your cards are canceled. Every photo of you wearing my jewelry has been deleted. Your name will be erased from every VIP list in this city.”
Margaret dropped to her knees beside her son, tears streaming down her face.
“Marianne… we’re family. Please…”
“You stopped being my family the second your son put his hands on me in front of his mistress.”
Mariana stood up slowly and walked around the desk.
“By tomorrow morning, the Sterling name will be completely removed from the company. By next week, you will have nothing left. And the best part?”
She leaned down and looked straight into Andrew’s eyes.
“You will never touch me again.”
Security dragged all three of them out while Andrew screamed her name, crying like a broken man.
That afternoon, Mariana stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the city.
She finally took off her wedding ring and dropped it into the trash.
Four years of humiliation. Four years of silence. Four years of playing the weak, grateful wife.
It was all over.
Her phone rang. It was her father.
“Are you okay, princess?” he asked gently.
Mariana smiled for the first time that day.
“I’m better than okay, Dad. I’m finally free.”
From that day forward, the Sterling family became a cautionary tale in Beverly Hills.
And Mariana Escalante?
She became the woman everyone once underestimated — and would never forget.
