Margaret and Brenda were brought into the office next. Both were crying.
Brenda tried to speak, “Mariana, I swear I never meant—”
“Quiet,” Mariana cut her off. Her voice was soft but carried absolute authority. “You wanted high society so badly? Enjoy sleeping in a cheap motel tonight. All your cards are canceled. Every photo of you wearing my jewelry has been deleted. Your name will be erased from every VIP list in this city.”
Margaret dropped to her knees beside her son, tears streaming down her face.
“Marianne… we’re family. Please…”
“You stopped being my family the second your son put his hands on me in front of his mistress.”
Mariana stood up slowly and walked around the desk.
“By tomorrow morning, the Sterling name will be completely removed from the company. By next week, you will have nothing left. And the best part?”
She leaned down and looked straight into Andrew’s eyes.
“You will never touch me again.”
Security dragged all three of them out while Andrew screamed her name, crying like a broken man.
That afternoon, Mariana stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the city.
She finally took off her wedding ring and dropped it into the trash.
Four years of humiliation. Four years of silence. Four years of playing the weak, grateful wife.
It was all over.
Her phone rang. It was her father.
“Are you okay, princess?” he asked gently.
Mariana smiled for the first time that day.
“I’m better than okay, Dad. I’m finally free.”
From that day forward, the Sterling family became a cautionary tale in Beverly Hills.
And Mariana Escalante?
She became the woman everyone once underestimated — and would never forget.
