She Brought a Little Mermaid Home Without Knowing It, and This Is What Happened…

Hello, my name is Lina and I am a little mermaid. Mom always told me never to swim too far out, but I could not stay in the same place all the time. My big sister swam wherever and whenever she wanted, but for some unknown reason, it was different for me.

One day, after looking left, right, up, and down to make sure no one was watching me, I said to myself, “Come on, let’s swim a little farther and see what’s around the neighborhood.” I kept swimming and swimming until I had gone so far that I could no longer find my way home.

I cried, called for my sister, my friends, my mother. No one answered. I even sang our favorite song, but no one joined in. Suddenly, I saw a human bent over, drawing water. I moved closer to her, but she could not see me.

But when I jumped back into the water, a wave swept me away and I landed in the calabash she was using without her noticing. She lifted the calabash and placed it on her head. I was terrified. After a few minutes, she set the calabash down and began speaking a language I did not understand. A little boy arrived and played with the water in the pot. His mother yelled at him. He left, then came back with a small bowl, scooped up some water, and me with it.
