ENDING: Ashes
Ten minutes later, the plane was still at the gate.
Alejandro was already sipping champagne in Seat 1A, Camila’s hand resting possessively on his thigh, when the captain’s voice crackled over the intercom.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for the delay. We’ve been asked to hold at the gate due to… an administrative issue.”
Alejandro frowned. Camila leaned in, whispering something that made him smirk.
In the terminal, Valeria still sat motionless, legs crossed, eyes fixed on the plane like a hunter watching prey.
Inside the first-class cabin, two airline executives in dark suits suddenly appeared at the front. They spoke quietly to the flight attendant, then walked straight to Seat 1A.
“Mr. Alejandro Castillo?”
Alejandro looked up, annoyed. “Yes?”
“I’m afraid you’ll need to come with us, sir.”
Camila laughed nervously. “This must be a mistake.”
“It’s not,” the executive said coldly. “Security is waiting.”
The entire first-class cabin watched in stunned silence as Alejandro was escorted off the plane like a criminal. Camila followed, heels clicking too fast, face flushed with humiliation.
At the gate, Alejandro exploded the moment he saw Valeria still sitting there.
“What the hell did you do?!” he snarled.
Valeria stood up slowly. For the first time in years, she looked at him without love, without pain — only calm indifference.
“You tore up my boarding pass,” she said softly. “So I canceled the flight.”
Alejandro laughed bitterly. “You? Cancel my plane? With what power?”
Valeria tilted her head. “With the 49% shares I still own in Castillo Global. The shares your brother thought he could steal from me quietly.”
The color drained from Alejandro’s face.
Behind him, airport security and two federal agents were now approaching.
Valeria continued, voice steady:
“Ten minutes ago, I called the man who now controls the majority voting rights on the board. He’s been waiting for this moment for months. The Geneva deal? It’s already signed — in my name. Not yours.”
Alejandro’s mouth opened, but no words came out.
Camila stepped forward. “You’re bluffing. You’re just a pathetic little nurse who—”
Valeria’s gaze shifted to the mistress. “And you… are now flying back to nothing. The apartment Alejandro bought you in Polanco? Seized this morning. The black card? Frozen. The gifts? Being collected as we speak.”
Part 3: The Reckoning
They were moved to a private airport lounge. Alejandro paced like a caged animal while Valeria sat on the leather couch, calm as ever.
Ricardo, Alejandro’s brother, burst into the room minutes later, tie loosened, sweating.
“Valeria, let’s talk like adults,” he started. “We can fix this. Family—”
“There is no family anymore,” she cut him off. “You planned to leave me with nothing after I gave everything to build this empire. You called me a gold-digger in those emails. You suggested Alejandro drug me during the divorce meeting so I’d sign quietly.”
Ricardo froze.
Alejandro turned to his brother. “You said what?”
Valeria pulled out her phone and played a short recording. Ricardo’s voice was crystal clear:
“…just slip something in her drink. She’ll be too out of it to fight the papers.”
Alejandro looked like he’d been slapped.
Valeria stood up. “I have copies of everything. Every email. Every transfer. Every mistress you both tried to hide. The board has already voted. Alejandro, you are officially removed as CEO effective immediately. Ricardo, your license is under investigation.”
She walked toward the door, then paused.
“Oh, and one more thing.”
She looked straight at Alejandro.
“I filed for divorce three months ago. The papers were served to you this morning — while you were busy tearing up my boarding pass. You now owe me half of everything. Including the private jet you were about to board with your whore.”
Part 4 & Ending: Ashes
Two weeks later.
The headline in every major Mexican business newspaper read:
“CASTILLO GLOBAL COLLAPSES: FOUNDER OUSTED BY WIFE HE BETRAYED”
Alejandro sat in the near-empty penthouse he once shared with Valeria. The furniture was being repossessed. Camila had already left him the moment the money dried up.
His phone rang. It was Valeria.
He answered on the first ring.
“What do you want?” His voice was broken.
“Nothing from you anymore,” she said quietly. “I just wanted you to know I’m leaving for Geneva tonight. First class. On the plane you tried to take with her.”
Alejandro swallowed hard. “Valeria… I was stupid. I got lost in the power. I—”
“You didn’t just cheat on me,” she interrupted. “You tried to erase me. The woman who loved you when you had nothing.”
She paused, then delivered the final blow:
“I hope you remember this moment every time you see my name on the company you once called yours. Goodbye, Alejandro.”
She hung up.
Valeria stood at the new Gate 12, this time holding a fresh boarding pass. She wore a tailored white suit, diamond earrings catching the light — gifts she had bought herself with the first dividend payment from the Geneva deal.
As she walked toward priority boarding, she didn’t look back.
Not once.
Behind her, the empire she built continued without the man who tried to destroy her.
And for the first time in twelve years…
Valeria Castillo was finally free.
