Her Daughter’s Whisper Stopped His Execution at Dawn

Part 2

The silence was heavy.

Ryan released my hand slowly.

“Who let you in?”

“The staff. And the forensic mechanic,” Ms. Parker said.

Claire didn’t look afraid.

She looked annoyed.

“Emily had an accident,” she said. “Don’t invent things.”

“Interesting accident,” Ms. Parker replied. “The brakes were cut.”

Claire leaned closer.

“That proves nothing.”

But her hand was shaking.

“Not just anyone knew Emily would take that road,” Ms. Parker said.

Ryan laughed nervously. “My wife is in a coma.”

“She changed her will.”

Silence.

Claire stepped back.

“That’s impossible.”

“Is it, Claire?”

Ethan held my hand tighter.

“You heard enough, didn’t you?” Claire muttered.

“You also attempted to move him out of the country,” Ms. Parker said.

Ryan snapped, “She wasn’t in her right mind!”

“She was fully conscious when she changed everything into a trust for Ethan.”

The room froze.

Claire whispered, “Maybe we should’ve made sure she never woke up.”

A metallic sound clicked.

She had a weapon.

“Enough,” she said.

Ethan spoke suddenly:

“Aunt Claire… you said that the night of the crash too.”

Everything broke.

“You said one curve could fix what a judge complicates.”

Claire cursed.

“Shut up!”

But Ethan continued.

“You planned it. You both did.”

Ryan moved toward him.

“Come here.”

“Don’t touch him,” Ms. Parker said.

A loud bang from the hallway:

“POLICE! OPEN THE DOOR!”
